Joseph Milner

  General Notes:

Joseph Milner, son of Edward and Sarah Grammar Milner, was born on June 3, 1786, probably in Loudoun County, Virginia, where he lived as a boy. He was named for his father's younger brother. He was about sixteen years of age when he moved with his parents and brothers and sisters to Richland Township, Belmont County, Ohio. At the age of 23, on December 14, 1809, he married 20 year old Susannah McNabb. She was born December 12, 1789. George and John McNabb were early settlers in that township. Most likely she was the daughter one or the other.

On May 14, 1831, Joseph and Susanna Milner, with his brother John and wife Mary, sold 92 acres in the north part of SE quarter of section 22 township 8, one mile north of Morristown "in the land offered for sale at Steubenbille" to Lewis Gilham for $368.

December 9, 1831, Joseph and Susannah Milner bought from Titus Bennett of Philadelphia, bookseller, 90 acres in Union Township, Belmont County, on the headwaters of Union Creek, adjacent to and NW of Morristown., being part of the SW quarter of section 15 in the 8th township and 15th range.

Joseph married Susannah McNabb, daughter of George McNabb and Martha Sheppard, on 14 Dec 1809 in Richland Township, Belmont, Ohio. (Susannah McNabb was born on 12 Dec 1789 in Harrison, Hamilton, Ohio, USA and died on 6 Jul 1867 in Morristown, Belmont, Ohio, USA.)
