Thomas moved with his parents to Chatham Co., N. C., in 1772. Thomas bought land in Chatham Co., in 1785, from Henry Bray Thomas' Will of 1787 names his wife,Hannah, and his brothers Edom, Amos and Abner, and mentions his sons, but does not give their names. Thomas' father, John left a Will of 1790 that names the sons of Thomas (deceased): Job; Samuel; Elias; John; Thomas.
