Philip Weeks
Philip WEEKS was born in Connecticut; came to Wyoming first in 1762-63; and finally in 1769 with the first two hundred settlers; resided in the lower part of Wilkes-Barre on or near the present STURDEVANT place; married Abigail BEERS; was killed in the Wyoming Massacre of 3 Jul 1778; being called back out of the river by the promises of the Indians to spare his life, but as soon as he got out of the water they fell upon him with spear and tomahawk and killed him at the water's edge; they knew him; his house was about a mile below their town of Maughwauwama on the elevated flats or terrace.
