Bachelor Hussey, son of Sylvanus Hussey and Hepzibah Starbuck Hussey, was born 29th, 11th month, 1728-29, according to Nantucket Quaker records. He was married 29th, 10th month, "called December," 1748 in Sherburne, Massachusetts to Anna Coffin, daughter of Daniel Coffin and Mary Blake Coffin. Bachelor Hussey received a house on Nantucket Island under the terms of his father's will probated March 6, 1767.
Bachelor Hussey "loaned money to the colonies" during the Revolution, according to "History of Nantucket." He was cited in "DAR Patriot Index" for rendering patriotic service during the Revolutionary War. He was a selectman in Nantucket November 20, 1775. He signed a petition for welfare relief of the poor May 23, 1780
He appeared as the head of a household in the 1790 census of Sherburne, according to "Heads of Households, Massachusetts, 1790," page 163. The family was rendered as:
"Hussey, Bachelor white male over 16 white female white male under 16 white male under 16 white female white female"
He reappeared in the 1800 census of Nantucket, page 16, as the head of a household composed of:
"Hussey, Bachelor white male over 45 white female over 45 white female 16-26
Bachelor Hussey died April 12, 1805, according to Nantucket Quaker records. Louis Coffin in "The Coffin Family" states that Anna Coffin Hussey died January 2, 1807.

The Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire, 1988, indicates Batchelder, b. 18 Feb 1685, m. 11 Oct, 1704 Abigail Hall; lived in Nantucket and Biddeford. 11 childeren, a number married in Dover.
Genealigical and Family History of the State of New Hampshire, Vol IV, 1908. indicates the following:
(III) Bachelor, second son of Stephen and Martha (Bunker) Hussey, was born February 18, 1685, in Nantucket, where he lived many years, settling later in Biddeford, Maine. He was probably engaged in the coasting or West India trade. He was married, October 11, 1704, to Abigail Halle, the record appearing in Hamption with the births of four children, namely: Christopher, Mary, Jedidah (daughter) and John. Others were born to them in Nantucket of Biddeford.
Ancestries of John Moran Foy and Samuel Calvert Foy and Their Wives Louisa Macy and Lucinda Macy, Compiled by Ella Foy O'Gorman in 1935, indicates that 1715, 9, 10, Stephen Hussey deed to son Batchelder for love and affection, etc., "one full complete quarter of that share of land which I bought of my father, Christopher, containing one full complete twenty-fifth of the island of Nantucket."
