bullet  Research Notes:

Lydia, b. 2 mo. 14. 1716; m. 6 mo. 30, 1739 at Chichester meeting to William Hewes, son of William and Mary of Chichester.
She died 4 mo. 11, 1748, but it is not known that she left any children. William in his will dated 8 mo. 4, 1753, and proven the 18th of the same month, mentions his wife Rebecca and son Aaron; also appoints his brother John Hewes and brother in law Richard Dutton his executors, and says, "I will that my executors shall cause grave stones to be made and set up at the head and feet of the graves of my father and mother and my deceased wife and children, and also at my own grave."
Whether the will of the testator was executed in these respects has not been ascertained, but it is to be regretted that Friends have angenerally excluded from their burial places those marks by which we might otherwise identify the last resting places of our ancestors.
