Russell Orr was born in Pennsylvania in 1798. He came to Ohio with his parents, who settled in Jackson township, now Mahoning county, at an early date, on the farm now occupied by Mr. Goldsmith. Russell Orr removed to Milton township in 1824, where he lived until his death. He was married in 1820 to Eleanor Winans, and became the father of ten children, to-wit : Ellen, Rodney, Gates, James, Casselman, Susan, Mary, Jacintha, Olive, and Russell, all of whom survive except James. Mr. Orr died at the age of forty- one, and his wife at the age of seventy-nine. Rodney Orr, the second child, was born in Jackson,
in 1823. At the age of thirty he was married to Miss Elizabeth Moore. In 1862 he enlisted in the Forty-first Ohio volunteer infantry.

Eleanor Winans
State of Ohio, Trumbull Co. as Personally appeared Isaac Winans and made application for a marriage license for Russell Orr and Eleanor Winans of the Township of Milton in said County, and made solemn oath that the said Russell Orr is of the age of twenty-one years, and the said Eleanor Winans is of the age of eighteen years; that they are both single, and not nearer of kin then first cousins; that he knows of no legal impediment against their being joined in Marriage.
