 General Notes:
William , along with two other men , opened a bloomery for making barr iron. It is beleived that he was the first man east of the Misspssippi River to do so. The land that this was on was surveyed by one George Washington. This area became known as Vestal Gap.
William married Elizabeth Mercer Woodward. (Elizabeth Mercer Woodward was born on 4 Aug 1692 in Northampton, England and died in 1751 in Cane Creek MM, Orange, North Carolina, USA.)
