Came from Ireland with his brothers and brought a Quaker certificate with them. They went to Frederic, Va. and put the certificate in Hioewell Friends Church. He brought a certificate for himself and wife Mary, from Hopewell to Warrington in 1750. He was assessed in London Grove Twp., Chester Co., Penn. in 1729,1734. In 1787 he went back to Adams/Westmorland Co. Penn., and both are buried there in the Redstone Region of Penn.
James married Mary Finley on 25 Mar 1735 in Old Swede's, Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware. (Mary Finley was born on 5 Jul 1715 in Ireland and died on 10 Nov 1766 in Menallen Township, Adams, Pennsylvania.)
